Disease Control That Stops Lawn Fungus Before It Spreads
Brown patch, dollar spot, and other fungal diseases can destroy months of lawn care progress in just weeks. Our preventative disease control program keeps your turf protected during Charlotte’s most vulnerable growing season.
Included with Premium and Elite Lawn Care Programs
Disease control treatments are included at no extra charge when you enroll in our Premium or Elite lawn care programs. This integrated approach ensures your lawn is protected year-round.
COMPARE LAWN CARE PROGRAMSEvery 28 Days, May Through August
Lawn diseases are most aggressive during Charlotte’s hot, humid summer months. Our treatment schedule is designed to maintain continuous protection when your lawn is most vulnerable. Four preventative applications, spaced 28 days apart, create an overlapping barrier that stops fungal infections before they can take hold.
Treatment 1
Early May
Preventative application as soil temperatures rise and disease pressure begins
Treatment 2
Early June
Summer protection as heat and humidity increase disease risk
Treatment 3
Early July
Peak season coverage during the highest-risk period
Treatment 4
Early August
Late summer protection as conditions remain favorable for disease

Lawn Diseases Do Not Wait
By the time you see brown patches or dead spots, fungal diseases have already established themselves in your lawn. The damage spreads quickly in summer conditions, and recovery can take months. Prevention is always more effective than treatment.
Brown patch that appears overnight and spreads rapidly
Dollar spot creates small straw-colored circles across your yard
Pythium blight that can kill grass within 24 hours
Gray leaf spot weakening and thinning tall fescue
Months of recovery time after disease damage occurs
Preventative Protection That Works
Our disease control program uses professional-grade fungicides applied at the right time in the right amounts. The 28-day cycle ensures continuous coverage, with each application reinforcing protection before the previous one wears off. This proactive approach costs far less than treating active infections and repairing damaged turf.
Broad-spectrum fungicides effective against multiple disease types
Precisely timed applications that match disease cycles
No gaps in protection during peak disease pressure
Integrated with fertilization for stronger, more resistant turf
Monitoring and early intervention before conditions favor disease

Diseases We Protect Against
Charlotte’s climate supports several lawn diseases that can devastate untreated turf. Our fungicide program targets the most common and destructive ones.
Brown Patch
The most common summer disease in Charlotte. Creates large circular patches of dead grass, often with a darker ring at the edges. Most active when nights stay above 70 degrees with high humidity.
Dollar Spot
Small, silver-dollar-sized spots of straw-colored grass that can merge into larger dead areas. Primarily affects warm-season grasses. Often indicates low nitrogen levels combined with moisture stress.
Pythium Blight
While we don't offer complete protection against Pythium Blight, our treatments will protect your turf for 2 weeks after application. To fully protect against this disease would require 8 spray treatments during summer—not the most economical or environmentally friendly approach.
Gray Leaf Spot
Primarily affects tall fescue and perennial ryegrass. Creates tan lesions with purple-brown borders on grass blades. Heavy infections can thin turf significantly over a few weeks.

Lawn Disease Questions Answered
Why do you only treat from May through August?
Lawn fungal diseases need specific conditions to thrive: sustained heat, high humidity, and warm overnight temperatures. In Charlotte, these conditions typically occur from late spring through late summer. Treating outside this window wastes product and money since disease pressure is minimal in cooler months. Our four treatments, spaced every 28 days during peak season, provide protection exactly when your lawn needs it.
Can you treat disease once it appears?
Yes, but reactive treatment is more difficult and less effective than prevention. Once disease symptoms appear, the fungus has already established itself and caused damage. Curative treatments can stop spread, but affected areas often need time to recover or may require reseeding. Our preventative approach stops disease before visible damage occurs, which is more cost-effective and produces better results.
What should I do if I see brown patches between treatments?
Contact us immediately if you notice suspicious brown patches. Not all brown spots are disease—drought stress and insect damage can look similar. We will inspect the area and determine if additional treatment is needed. Premium and Elite program customers receive priority response for disease concerns during the summer season.
