Neglected Systems Waste Water and Money

Most irrigation problems develop slowly — a head gets knocked out of alignment, a valve starts leaking, or settings drift out of sync with the seasons. Without regular maintenance, small issues become expensive repairs and wasted water.

Irrigation Program Questions Answered

Why do I need to winterize my sprinkler system?

Water expands when it freezes, which can cause pipes, sprinkler heads, and irrigation valves to crack or burst—resulting in expensive repairs come spring. Winterization removes all water from your system using compressed air, protecting your investment from freeze damage throughout the winter months.

What is included in a spring startup service?

Our spring startup includes turning on the water supply, carefully pressurizing the system, inspecting all zones for leaks or damage, adjusting misaligned spray heads, checking the controller programming, and testing rain sensors. We identify any issues that developed over winter so your system runs efficiently from day one.

How often should I have my irrigation system serviced?

At minimum, your system needs professional service twice a year—spring startup and fall winterization. Our Premium Package adds a mid-season inspection to catch issues before they become costly repairs, adjust heads that have shifted, and optimize your watering schedule for summer heat.

When is the best time to water my lawn?

The best time to water is early morning, finishing by sunrise. This allows water to soak into the soil before the heat of the day causes evaporation, and before wind picks up and blows water droplets away. Watering in the evening can promote fungal growth since grass stays wet overnight.

How much water does my lawn actually need?

Most Charlotte-area lawns need about one inch of water per week, including rainfall. During our hot, humid summers you may need slightly more. Your soil type, grass variety, and sun exposure all affect water needs. We can help program your controller for optimal watering based on your specific lawn conditions.

What if my system needs repairs?

During an irrigation inspection, we will identify any issues that need attention and discuss your options before performing any work. This way, you stay informed and in control of any repairs to your system.
