When is the best time to aerate my lawn in Charlotte?
The ideal timing depends on your grass type. For tall fescue lawns, which are most common in Charlotte, fall (September through October) is the best time to aerate. The grass is actively growing, temperatures are cooling, and the lawn has time to recover before winter. For warm-season grasses like Bermuda and Zoysia, late spring through summer (May through June) is optimal, when the grass is fully green and growing vigorously.
How often should I aerate my lawn?

What should I do after aeration?
Leave the soil plugs on your lawn. They will break down within a few weeks and return nutrients to the soil. This is also an excellent time for overseeding or lime application, as seeds and amendments can reach the soil more easily through the aeration holes. Avoid heavy traffic on freshly aerated lawns for 24 to 48 hours.
